Season Transition In-Game Changes
Seasonal Character Changes
With the start of SS0, characters created in previous seasons will be categorized as permanent characters. New characters created during SS0 will be classified as pure seasonal characters.
- Additional Character Slots: Four new character slots will be available for players to create new characters.
- Permanent Characters Preservation: Permanent characters will not be deleted. All obtained equipment and items will remain intact without resets or losses.
- Season Compatibility: Both permanent characters and pure seasonal can access all SS0 content.
Note: Characters created during the season transition period will be classified as permanent characters.
Valkyrie's Proving Grounds
Valkyrie's Provings Leaderboard will no longer be updated during the season transition. Challenges undertaken during this period will not contribute to the Leaderboard and won't affect ranking rewards. Nevertheless, you can still engage in Valkyrie's Proving Grounds to unlock and receive rewards corresponding to the floor levels.
The final ranking rewards for Proving Grounds in S3 will be determined based on the highest rank achieved by any character under the account by 4:00 AM on November 25, 2024 (UTC+8).
Important Note: Deleting a character will erase its corresponding rank record.
Leaderboard Adjustments
Valkyrie's Proving Grounds will feature the following updates in the new season:
- Transition to Speed Rankings: Tower climbing will change to a time-based ranking system, with the Carnelian rank fixed at 150 floors.
- Revised Mechanics:
- Floor skipping will no longer consume Resurrection Coins.
- During challenges, players have one opportunity to continue after defeat by using one Resurrection Coin.
- Content Changes: The Avatar of the Valkyrie remains, but the Boons of the Valkyrie are removed.
- Permanent characters can participate in Proving Grounds challenges, earning both rank rewards and floor rewards.
- Replayability: Players can select specific floors and repeat challenges as desired.
- Exclusive Bosses: Some limited-time bosses, such as the Giant Golden Snapclaw and the Black Archknight, will appear in the Proving Grounds.
Important Notes:
- At the end of SS0, rank rewards will be distributed based on the highest rank achieved by any character under the same account.
- Rank rewards for permanent and pure seasonal characters cannot be claimed twice, and floor rewards will not be shared across characters.
New Equipment Leaderboard
The new season will introduce an equipment leaderboard:
- Permanent and pure seasonal characters will have separate rankings.
- Only equipment obtained during SS0 will be eligible for ranking. Equipment acquired in previous seasons will not be included.
Order Medallion
Throughout the Season Transition Period, you can still earn Medallion Points by completing tasks as usual. However, please note that the Gold Order Medallion and the Chevalier's Golden Order Medallion will not be available for purchase during this time.
Gachapon Dispenser
The "Beatscape Horizon" series prizes will be removed from the Gachapon Dispenser after the transition period ends on November 27, 2024, at 10:00 AM (UTC+8).
Important Note: New prizes will only be visible after updating to SS0. Without the update, the gacha will prompt, "The prize pool of gacha pods is being updated, please come back later."
Permanent Characters in SS0: Key Details
To help you better understand how the new season will affect gameplay, we have compiled an overview of what to expect when entering the game with permanent characters after SS0 begins:
Feature and Gameplay Unlocks
- All previously unlocked features and gameplay modes, such as the Projection Playground and Terminus Ixion: Tower Top, will remain fully accessible. The game difficulty will also retain its prior progression.
- New seasonal features like Specializations and Forging will unlock based on character level. For instance, permanent characters at level 60 will have everything unlocked.
Equipment Details
Preservation of Gear: All equipment from past seasons, whether equipped, stored in your Backpack, or kept in the Storage, will remain intact, with no changes to their appearance.
Insane-Quality Gear Fatebounds Adjustments: Some Fatebounds of Insane-quality gear from previous seasons will remain effective, while others will be adjusted.
Modifier Changes: Equipment modifiers such as “X skill level+1” will be updated to “X class active skill+1.”
Skill Reset
With the overhaul of the skill system, all skills will be reset when entering the game. Players will need to upgrade skills again, but there will be no cost for upgrading or resetting skill levels.
Character Stats
The stats and apex levels of permanent characters will be reset, but all points will be preserved and need to be reassigned.
Seasonal Items
All items owned by permanent characters will be preserved.
Items such as fruits will be stored in the Consumables tab of the Backpack, while materials like plumes, gachapon coins, embers, and companion eggs will be stored in the Materials tab. These materials will not occupy Backpack space.
Item Inheritance Rules
Equipment
Due to character adjustments, the equipment has been categorized into permanent equipment and pure seasonal equipment:
- Equipment obtained by permanent characters is classified as permanent equipment.
- Equipment obtained by pure seasonal characters is classified as pure seasonal equipment.
Rules for Permanent Characters
Permanent characters can equip permanent equipment and any equipment obtained during the new season but cannot equip or forge pure seasonal equipment:
- Old Season Equipment: Can only be equipped, not forged.
- New Season Equipment: Can be both equipped and forged.
Rules for Pure Seasonal Characters
Pure seasonal characters can only equip and forge pure seasonal equipment. They can view permanent equipment but cannot equip or forge it.
When viewing equipment, season indicators or season numbers will be displayed. Equipment obtained in old seasons will retain its original appearance.
Permanent Equipment
- Permanent equipment is no longer compatible with new season equipment developing systems, meaning it cannot be realigned, tempered, or ranked up. However, all previous forging results, such as Helxar-infused Equipment or Culminated Equipment, will remain effective. Permanent characters can still equip them for activities like clearing dungeon areas, tower climbing, or Trial of Embers.
Adjustments to Insane-Quality Gear
- Some permanent Insane-quality gear Fatebounds remain effective, while others have been adjusted.
- All Insane-quality gear from previous seasons will not drop in the new season.
- Insane-quality gear obtained in old seasons can still be equipped by permanent characters in the new season.
- New season Insane-quality gear will now drop tied to specific dungeon areas. There's no need to defeat bosses to obtain them—any monsters in a dungeon area have a chance to drop Insane-quality gear. Additionally, Valkyrie's Proving Grounds will also offer chances to obtain Insane-quality gear!
Hephaestites & Lydites
In the new season, Weathered Hephaestites, Volcanic Hephaestites, and Lydites will be available as drops. These materials are stored under the "Materials" tab in the Backpack.
- Hephaestites and Lydites are not shared between permanent and pure seasonal characters.
- After the season ends, all Hephaestites and Lydites obtained by pure seasonal characters will merge with the permanent characters' Backpack.
EsoCircuits & Chips
EsoCircuits and chips are not shared between permanent and pure seasonal characters and are stored in the Workshop section. After the season ends, these materials obtained by pure seasonal characters will merge with the permanent characters' Backpack.
Adjustments to Chips in the New Season:
- Chips will no longer be transposed directly onto equipment but instead onto specific gear slots. Changing equipment does not affect the chips in those slots, and chips can be separately transposed on main and secondary weapon slots.
- EsoCircuits can be used to upgrade chips, with a maximum chip level of 8.
- Duplicate chips of the same type will only provide a single effect.
Trial of Embers
In the new season, Trial of Embers will be relocated to the Dailies section. You can also access Trial of Embers via the passage in the upper-left corner of Chillstead Village.
Due to adjustments in the boss mechanics for the new season:
- Main storyline dungeon areas will now feature a single fixed boss.
- Other bosses (e.g., Giant Golden Snapclaw, Black Archknight) will appear in Trial of Embers and Valkyrie's Proving Grounds.
Key Notes About Trial of Embers:
- Embers are shared across all characters on the same account and will be fully retained.
- With the new equipment system:
- Previously obtainable Insane-quality gear from Trial of Embers will no longer drop.
- Already acquired Insane-quality gear will remain unaffected.
- New Insane-quality gear will be introduced in Trial of Embers during the new season.
Tablet of Wishes & Rune of Wishes & Eidolic Signum
The Tablet of Wishes, Rune of Wishes, and Eidolic Signum are shared across all characters under the same account and will carry over completely.
Eidolic Calibrums are not shared between permanent and pure seasonal characters; they will be stored in the "Eidolons" section of the function tab. At the end of the season, Eidolic Calibrums obtained by pure seasonal characters will be merged into permanent items.
Eidolons that have already been obtained do not need to be unlocked again. Eidolon ranks will carry over, but the levels of Eidolons for pure seasonal characters will reset to level 1.
Mana Key & Mana Dice
Mana Keys and Mana Dices are shared across all characters under the same account and will carry over completely.
Cards & Valkyrie Plume & Fruit
Cards, Valkyrie Plumes, and Fruits are not shared between permanent and pure seasonal characters. At the end of the season, these items obtained by pure seasonal characters will be merged into permanent items.
Note: Adjustments to the Concoct Potions and Equipment Synthesize features will be introduced in the new season. Stay tuned for official updates!
In-Game Features Adjustments in SS0
Co-op
In SS0, permanent characters cannot join multiplayer games with pure seasonal characters.
Apex Level
In SS0, the seasonal bonus effects of apex points will be removed, and only the base effects will remain. The apex level cap will remain at 125 and will follow the inheritance rules from previous seasons:
- For pure seasonal characters below level 50, the effective apex points will equal half their level.
- Apex talent points will unlock based on the effective apex points.
Order Medallion
Starting with SS0, the Order Medallion will be accessible to all characters under the same account. Both permanent and pure seasonal characters will share progress on Order Medallion quests.
Daily Quests
In SS0, daily quests will be replaced with "Bounty Quests." Progress will be shared between permanent and pure seasonal characters on the same account, affecting each other. More details will be shared in upcoming official updates!
Daily Invitation
With Volcanic Hephaestites now dropping in dungeons and some Bosses becoming permanently available, the Daily Invitation feature will be discontinued in the new season, along with the removal of the Statue of Reforging.
Helxar-Related Features
The Helxar-related features are temporarily disabled, including the Helxar-touched dungeons and Helxar Infusion. Madame Silvesper will be temporarily removed from the game.
- Helxar-infused and Culminated gear will remain valid and can still be used by permanent characters.
- Existing Ebon Shards and Helxarines will remain in the Consumables of your Backpack and will not be affected.
Computility & Projection Dungeon
In SS0, Computility-related features will unlock upon clearing a certain dungeon area. Players no longer need to complete related storylines, and VarE will disappear from Chillstead. Both permanent and pure seasonal characters can access Computility-related features and Projection Dungeons.
Terminus Ixion: Tower Top & Projection Playground
The Terminus Ixion: Tower Top and Projection Playground gameplay will be retained as "Weeklies" gameplay in SS0.
Affixed Mode
Affixed Mode will not be available at the start of SS0 but will return in a future update.
Lastly, here are two quick updates regarding equipment changes:
- To simplify early-game equipment rules, only gear of Legendary quality or higher will feature Legendary modifiers in SS0.
- We've also made some adjustments to the Temper Tier limits:
- For gear below level 40, the maximum Temper Tier is 3.
- For gear below level 50, the maximum Temper Tier is 4.
- For gear below level 60, the maximum Temper Tier is 5.
