Here's your TL;DR: SS5 introduces brand-new Sacred Souls that complete your build, and a refreshed Talent system that streamlines the once-chaotic point allocation features.
Before we break it down—SS5 Awakening lands on November 27!
⭐ Sacred Souls 101
What Are They?
Meet Sacred Souls, your character's new gear-like progression system. Unlock the new system by clearing Enigmine level 1 and access it via Main Menu → Growth → Sacred Soul.
Each character has six slots where you can equip Souls, and matching 2 or 4 pieces unlocks powerful set effects. Two-piece sets boost stats, while four-piece sets grant passives.

2-piece set effect of Valkyrie's Verdict (universal) & 4-piece set effect of Xyl'garon's Pulse (Wildwalker-exclusive)
Drops and Quality
Sacred Souls drop from Enigmine, Wartorn Ruins*, and Zenithlon*, and come in Rare, Epic, and Legendary qualities. Higher quality means better base stats and Soul Power, but set effects work even if you mix different qualities.

The Epic Soul has better Soul Power, base stat, and affix attributes than the Rare one.
*More information regarding Wartorn Ruins & Zenithlon will be revealed in later preview posts.
There's a Set for You
In SS5, we've introduced 3 sets of Sacred Souls exclusively for Artillerist and Wildwalker, as well as 3 universal sets that work for all classes. And just like other systems, in the future seasons, all classes will eventually get their exclusive Souls.

Check Codex for all available Souls in the game.
⭐ Sacred Souls Level-Up Tips
Here's your big takeaway: Leveling Sacred Souls is all about the slot, not the Soul itself.
When you raise a slot's level, any Soul equipped there inherits that level, thus getting improved stats and better Soul Power.

Level up the slot for any Soul equipped there to have a better base stat and Soul Power.
Highest slot levels will carry over to permanent characters once the season transitions.
Sacred Soul Dais
Upgrade at the Sacred Soul Dais, which appears at the end of Enigmine level 2+. Using a Bomb or a Smoke Bomb on blocks will not affect the spawning of the Sacred Soul Dais.

Scared Soul Dais at the end of Enigmine
Higher difficulty increases success rates. And if you bump into a Vanguard's Challenge (a room full of vanguard monsters) after interacting with a dais, completing it can grant extra upgrade attempts.
Soulcap Bonuses
Even though you can freely mix different Soul qualities and still activate set effects, 4-piece Legendary Souls offer an extra advantage: they unlock Soulcap bonuses once your total Soulcap reaches certain thresholds.

Soulcap bonuses
So… what exactly is Soulcap? Each Sacred Soul comes with Soul Power, which scales with both its quality and its level. Your Soulcap is simply the total Soul Power from all equipped Souls, plus the extra Soul Power gained from the quality of tempered affixes on each equipped item.
In other words: Soulcap = Sacred Soul Power + Tempered Soul Power

🔥 Talent System Overhaul
The Talent System streamlines character growth, combining the point allocation features at Valkyrie, Apex Level, chips, etc., into one easy-to-use system. The best part? You can reset points for free anytime, so experimenting with builds is totally risk-free.

Access the new system via Main Menu → Growth → Talents
Unlock it at character level 50 and start earning talent points every level, including Apex Level.
Use points to enhance stats (including Awakening stats). Advanced talents will unlock once a certain number of talent points have been spent.

That's the rundown, knights. SS5 Awakening goes live November 27. Prep your Soul.
