Helxar Gameplay Overview: Harness the Power of Helxar for Adventure Success
Soul Knight Prequel Season 1: Xandu is set to kick off tomorrow (January 25) at 10:00 AM (UTC+8). Are you all ready?
In the Season 1: Xandu Update Overview, there was a mention of the new feature: Helxar. Today, let's delve into it in detail. Helxar is a mysterious power from the Eastern Continent, and if you're wondering who knows Helxar the best, it's none other than Madame Silvesper.
Madame Silvesper
How to Find Madame Silvesper?
In Season 1: Xandu, you'll find Madame Silvesper in Chillstead Village. She appears there after you complete Bulrush Marshes or Murkwood dungeon area for the first time.
Madame Silvesper can also be found at Lumen Enclave in the Eastern Continent of Xandu after you unlock Xandu and complete the Shattered Spine dungeon.
Helxar Materials
Following Season 1 launch, players will acquire Helxar materials—Ebon Shard and Helxarine—dropped by defeated monsters in dungeons. Helxarine is more challenging to obtain than Ebon Shard. Utilize Ebon Shard at Madame Silvesper for Basic Helxar Infusion, while Helxarine is used for Advanced Helxar Infusion at the same NPC.
Post-Season 1 launch, Ebon Shard can be acquired by defeating dungeon bosses and monsters at any difficulty level. However, to obtain Helxarine, you need to defeat dungeon bosses and monsters at Normal difficulty or higher.
Helxar Materials are exclusive to seasonal characters; permanent characters cannot obtain them.
Helxar materials can also be obtained by using two Chest Keys to open the Helxar Chests sold by the Chest Merchant. During Season 1, only seasonal characters can purchase Helxar Chests; permanent characters are unable to buy them.
Helxar Infusion
Helxar Infusion refers to injecting the power of Helxar into equipment, granting extraordinary performance. Helxar Infusion is an exclusive feature of Season 1, and permanent characters cannot activate Helxar Infusion. After the conclusion of Season 1, Helxar Infusion will be available for permanent characters.
Once you accumulate enough Helxar materials, you can have Madame Silvesper proceed with Helxar Infusion on your equipment.
Madame Silvesper offers two types of Helxar Infusion: Basic Helxar Infusion and Advanced Helxar Infusion. Regardless of the infusion type, the consumption follows a pattern: the higher the gear's tier and quality, the higher the Helxar Infusion consumes. Moreover, the more times an equipment piece undergoes infusion, the higher the infusion consumes.
Here are some Helxar Infusion considerations:
1. Equipment with a quality below Charmed can’t be subject to Helxar Infusion.
2. Helxar-infused equipment can continue to be enhanced at Blacksmith Farrier.
3. Fatebound nodes and modifiers changed by the Helxar Infusion process can’t be reforged.
4. An equipment piece that’s already Helxar-infused can be infused again, but doing so will reset the original infusion result and overwrite it with a new one.
5. Culminated and Malignant equipment cannot be Helxar-infused again.
Additionally, dismantling Helxar-infused equipment will not yield Helxar materials.
1. Basic Helxar Infusion
After unlocking Madame Silvesper, interact with her to activate Basic Helxar Infusion. You can consume Ebon Shard to proceed with Basic Helxar Infusion, 1 of these outcomes will be achieved at random:
1. Modifier Enhancement: The infused equipment gains an additional modifier, and 1 of its existing modifiers is enhanced, granting it rank +1.
2. Superior Modifier Enhancement: The infused equipment gains an additional modifier, and 2 of its existing modifiers (with the possibility that both enhancements occur on the same modifier) are enhanced, granting them rank +1.
3. Fatebound Enhancement: The infused equipment gains an additional modifier, and 1 of its Fatebound nodes is randomly selected and replaced by a Helxar-touched Fatebound node.
If you're not satisfied with the Basic Helxar Infusion result, you can try again. Keep in mind that this will reset the original infusion result and overwrite it with a new one.
2. Advanced Helxar Infusion
After unlocking Madame Silvesper and completing the game on the first playthrough with a seasonal character, you can activate Advanced Helxar Infusion. Basic Helxar Infusion can only generate modifiers of rank 4 or less, whereas Advanced Helxar Infusion can generate modifiers over rank 4.
You can consume Helxarine to proceed with Advanced Helxar Infusion, and 1 of these outcomes will be achieved at random:
1. Modifier Enhancement: The infused equipment gains an additional modifier, and 1 of its existing modifiers is enhanced, granting it rank +1.
2. Superior Modifier Enhancement: The infused equipment gains an additional modifier, and 2 of its existing modifiers are enhanced (with the possibility that both enhancements occur on the same modifier), granting them rank +1.
3. Fatebound Enhancement: The infused equipment gains an additional modifier, and 1 of its Fatebound nodes is randomly selected and replaced by a Helxar-touched Fatebound node.
4. Malignancy:
- The infused equipment is transformed into Malignant equipment, and its enhancement levels are reset. Malignant equipment are guaranteed to possess Helxar-touched Fatebound nodes, and all of their modifiers are at least rank 3.
- When a weapon, armor or accessory becomes Malignant, they’re transformed, respectively, into a Malignant weapon of a random type (Spear & Shield, Greatsword, Dual Pistols, Staff), a Malignant armor of a random type (Heavy Armor, Light Armor, Mage Vestments) but the same slot, and a Malignant accessory of the same type.
5. Culmination: The infused equipment gains increased base stats as well as an additional modifier, and all of its modifiers are enhanced to rank 4. The additional modifier gained cannot exceed rank 4.
If you're not satisfied with the Basic Helxar Infusion result, you can try again. Keep in mind that this will reset the original infusion result and overwrite it with a new one.
Please note: Culminated and Malignant equipment cannot be Helxar-infused again.
Culminated and Helxar-infused equipment will have a distinct appearance on the equipment frame and icon, setting it apart from regular equipment:
3. Helxar-infused Equipment
After defeating bosses and elite Helxar monsters in a dungeon area, there's a chance to obtain Helxar-infused Equipment in addition to Helxar materials.
The drop rate of Helxar-infused Equipment varies with the difficulty level of the dungeon area you are in. The higher the difficulty, the corresponding higher the drop rate.
*Helxar-infused Equipment drops only for seasonal characters after defeating monsters; permanent characters won't receive them.
4. Helxar-touched Fatebound Node
Upon Helxar Infusion achieving "Fatebound enhancement" or "Malignancy," the Helxar-Touched Fatebound node activates. Similar to Insane Fatebound nodes, a single Helxar-touched Fatebound node is effective independently. Boss Fatebound nodes remain unaffected during infusion.
Helxar-Touched Fatebound nodes can take effect independently or coexist with regular Fatebound nodes, labeled as "(Helxar-Touched)". For Fatebound nodes with unique mechanics to follow specific rules, the more powerful Fatebound effect is preserved. For instance, if regular and Helxar-Touched Lock-On nodes coexist, the highest-level effect prevails.
Helxar Gameplay in Dungeon Areas
1. Helxar Elites
Once you unlock the Eastern Continent map with a seasonal character, there's a chance to encounter powerful Helxar Elites within the dungeon areas. These creatures are manifestations of Helxar, featuring additional damage resistance, and immunity to control effects. According to the elders, they seem to fear "Light." There's a probability of receiving Helxar-infused equipment when defeating Helxar Elites.
Currently, the common Helxar Elites found in the Eastern Continent are primarily three types:
1. Helxar Unguis: Engages in melee attacks with claws and can teleport.
2. Helxar Malum: Attacks by launching Helxar projectiles.
3. Helxar Cor: Attacks by emitting Helxar rays.
Apart from these three, a more formidable "Helxar Behemoth" awaits your discovery. Clear the Helxar threat and save the Eastern Continent!
2. Helxar-touched Dungeons
After completing all the Eastern Continent storylines with a seasonal character, Helxar-touched dungeons will appear on the map. Upon finishing a dungeon area, there's a chance for these dungeons to refresh, allowing you to choose challenges independently for Mystraea and the Eastern Continent.
You can select the difficulty level on the left side, ranging from 1 to 6. Completing a level unlocks the next, with higher levels offering greater difficulty and better rewards.
Available levels are determined by world difficulty:
1. Normal: Level 1 Helxar-touched Dungeons.
2. Challenging: Levels 1-2 Helxar-touched Dungeons.
3. Extreme: Levels 1-6 Helxar-touched Dungeons.
3. Helxar Corruption
During adventures in Mystraea and Xand, Helxar Corruption affects Helxar-touched dungeons and Provings Ground. Periodically, you'll face corruption, decreasing your power. Each stack reduces damage dealt and increases damage received. Higher-level dungeons or Provings Ground lead to faster corruption. Corruption may occur in defeating a Helxar elite or destroying a crystal.
When under Helxar Corruption, dispel it by locating a Font of Cleansing on the map or drinking a Cleansing Tonic. The Font can only be used once; in higher-level Helxar-touched dungeons, it might be destroyed. The 996 Combini might sell Cleansing Tonics, and defeating monsters may drop them. Use tonics and the Font of Cleansing to resist Helxar's influence effectively!
Note: In a multiplayer game, only the host can interact with the Font of Cleansing, and after interacting, it can cleanse the corruption status for all teammates.
4. Event Rooms & Helxar-touched Event Rooms
4.1 Event Rooms
After Season 1 launches, both seasonal and permanent characters can unlock the Event Room feature by completing Halcyon Cemetery. Event Rooms may appear in dungeon areas, offering various events for obtaining gear, coins, buffs, or finding teleportation portals for quick progression. Additionally, you can unlock new companions and collectibles.
Event Rooms can be accessed through the following entrances:
1. You may encounter a lost array in dungeon areas, and destroying it will open a teleportation portal to enter the Event Room.
2. You might find special "?" walls in dungeon areas, breaking which will open a teleportation portal to access the Event Room.
4.2 Helxar-touched Event Rooms
Helxar-touched Event Room is available to seasonal characters after Season 1 launches. These event rooms within Helxar-touched dungeon areas may transform into Helxar-touched event rooms. Completing these events also rewards you!
Helxar Apex Talent
After Season 1 launch, seasonal characters can unlock the Helxar Apex Talent via the Apex Level interface. Upon accessing the Apex Level interface, the Helxar Apex will be unlocked simultaneously.
If the base Apex points haven't reached the required amount for Helxar Apex, it won't activate, showing "Your base Apex Talent hasn't been activated yet." To unlock the first Helxar Apex node, you need 5 base Apex points; for the second node, you need 15; and for the third, you need 25.
Once you accumulate enough base Apex points, you'll need to use Helxarine to unlock the Seals to activate Helxar Apex. Each Seal has 4 tiers, and each tier provides specific benefits, fully unlocked a Seal grants a unique Helxar-touched ability. These benefits are shared across your account.
