The Projection Playground will go live after a brief update on June 3, 2024, from 16:00 to 18:00 (UTC+8), and will remain as a permanent gameplay in Esoteria.
Reminder: During the update, players in the game will receive a pop-up notification. Clicking "Exit" will close the game. Reopen it after the update to resume playing.
How to Access the Projection Playground
After unlocking the Esoteria map, the Projection Playground will become accessible. You can explore the Projection Playground solo or in multiplayer mode.
You will be under special suppression in the lab, the Computability of your cybermodded gear will be disabled upon entering the Projection Playground, and you'll need to collect projection chips to improve your Computability and parse faster.
The difficulty level of the Projection Playground available to you depends on your current game difficulty, as outlined below:
*When you first unlock the Projection Playground, it will default to difficulty level 5.
In-Depth Exploration of the Projection Playground
According to Tristan II's plan, exploring the Projection Playground involves two stages. The first stage aims to activate the Mysterious Device in the lab's center. For the second stage, Tristan II tapped his mechanical head and said, "Let's start by turning off the projection devices to power up the Mysterious Device first!"
Stage 1: Turn Off the Projection Devices, Activate the Mysterious Device
Tristan II found that the projection devices are consuming the power needed to activate the Mysterious Device. You must turn off enough of these devices to activate the Mysterious Device. Then, face and defeat the boss projection to complete the first stage of the Projection Playground!
Projection Playground Rooms
In the Projection Playground, besides the room with the Mysterious Device, there are three other types of rooms: Statue Room, Translocator Room, and Projection Device Room.
Statue Room: There are 4 of these rooms. Different statues appear randomly, and interacting with them grants buffs that last until you clear the Projection Playground.
Translocator Room: There are 4 of these rooms, each with a different color. Entering a translocator teleports you to the corresponding colored translocator room.
Projection Device Room: There are 16 of these rooms. Each room contains a projection device. Activating the device generates projected enemies and the leader of the projected enemies.
The Daily Invitation will not record the boss generated from the projection device.
Special Mechanics in the Projection Playground
Unique Convolution
The Projection Playground features a unique Convolution that your character's Computability cannot parse. To improve your Computability and parse faster, you must equip projection chips.
Projection Chip
Three types of projection chips will drop when you defeat monsters and boss projections. You can choose the projection chips that best suit your needs.
*Defeating a boss may drop exclusive boss gear, but not items like coins, cards, or hephaestites.
The chosen projection chips will automatically be placed into the projection chip slot, with each chip increasing your Computability by 1. As the difficulty of the Projection Playground increases, the number of projection chips that can be equipped also increases. Projection chips can be freely swapped, allowing you to customize your build.
*Projection chips will only be effective within the Projection Playground!
Projection Device Shutdown Progress Bar
To activate the Mysterious Device, a specific number of projection devices must be turned off. In the Projection Playground, a progress bar will display the shutdown progress of these devices. Each successful shutdown will be reflected in the progress bar.
The number of projection devices to turn off varies with the difficulty level of the Playground. In higher difficulty levels, more devices need to be turned off. Also, in multiplayer mode, the number of devices to turn off increases with the number of team members.
Stage 2: Escort the Engineering Vehicle and Defeat Esomech Xenopod
After activating the Mysterious Device and defeating the boss projection, a portal will appear. Interacting with it will transport you and Tristan II to the surface of the moon, signaling the start of the second stage of the Projection Playground!
In the second stage, Tristan II will drive the engineering vehicle through the canyon. Projection monsters will emerge, obstructing its progress. Due to an unknown magnetic field, you will lose life when outside the vehicle's range. Additionally, the vehicle will slow down if monsters enter its range. Defeat them to keep the vehicle moving!
After defeating the projection monsters and reaching the end of the canyon, you will encounter the Boss Esomech Xenopod, which continuously summons projection monsters to hinder your attack. It is recommended to prioritize defeating it!
*In the Projection Playground at the highest difficulty level, monsters have multiple life bars.
Projection Playground Rewards
Esotech Chest Rewards
After clearing the Projection Playground, you can obtain chips and rewards from the Esotech and Opulent Chests. The higher the difficulty and the faster the completion time, the better the rewards from the Esotech Chest!
Each account can receive rewards from the Esotech Chest up to 3 times per week. This limit will be reset every Thursday.
Additionally, the time taken to clear the Projection Playground affects the rewards you receive. If the timer is green when you finish, the rewards will be more generous. If the timer is yellow, the rewards will be standard. If the timer is red, the rewards will be reduced.
First Clear Rewards
Completing each difficulty level of the Projection Playground offers additional prizes - First Clear Rewards. These include Gems, Chest Keys, and EsoCircuits, as well as two exclusive back accessories. These mechanical back accessories project butterfly wings, making you feel like you're in the future!
